Trunnion Mounted Ball Valve (TMBV) Introduction
The trunnion mounted ball valve is used for on-off applications in pipelines. This quarter-turn valve opens when the ball’s bore aligns with the flow and closes with a 90-degree rotation. It can be locked in various positions for control.
With a stem and trunnion holding the ball, and spring-loaded metal seat retainers with soft inserts, it ensures a secure seal. It handles a wider range of sizes and pressures than floating valves and offers lower operational torque, reducing actuator costs.
